Scientist I/II Cardiometabolic


We are seeking a scientist to contribute to the drug discovery efforts of the CardioMetabolic Diseases Research team. The candidate will work within multi-disciplinary project teams to design and implement in vitro experiments to investigate novel therapeutic concepts and evaluate novel drug candidates. The scientist’s research will be focused on liver and kidney diseases and related disorders. The ideal candidate will be motivated to make scientific breakthroughs using cutting edge in vitro methodologies in service of improved therapies for cardiometabolic disease.

Duties & Responsibilities\:

  • Initiates and completes routine procedures in an independent and efficient manner, with minimal supervision; Independently operates and is responsible for lab equipment; Troubleshoots effectively

  • Demonstrates technical ability to assist in the design and execution of non-routine experiments with supervision.

  • Applies basic scientific principles with minimal guidance; Performs literature searches and extracts relevant information from published protocols

  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret outcome of experiments and to propose appropriate follow-up

  • Communicates own work effectively orally and in writing; Contributes to writing protocols, procedures, and technical reports; provide input for scientific reports

  • Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics

  • Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies

Sci I Requirements\:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience in a relevant field (cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, etc.)

  • Experience in laboratory work and research

  • Ability to operate laboratory equipment and apparatus

  • Ability to learn new technology and concepts

  • Concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information

  • Ability to troubleshoot

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Appropriate level of understanding of applicable regulation

Sci II Requirements\:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years’ experience in related scientific discipline or Master’s Degree in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in relevant field (cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, etc.)

  • Experience with relevant experimental methods\: PCR, cell culture, immunoblotting, flow cytometry, ELISA, etc.

  • Apply knowledge of basic theory and scientific principles

  • Able to draft portions of technical reports

  • Concise and accurate reporting of technical data and information

  • Ability to troubleshoot

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Appropriate level of understanding of applicable regulations

Eligibility Requirements\:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
